Congratulates R.W.Bro. Roger W. Freeman
on his Installation as the 2nd P.G.M. of Wessex
on Saturday 19th. December 2015
On Saturday 19th December, Most Worshipful
Brother Paul Јohnson, Grand Master of the
Masonic Order of Athelstan, Installed Right
Worshipful Brother Roger Freeman as the
new Provincial Grand Master of Wessex.
Right Worshipful Brother Brian Wright, Past
Deputy Provincial Grand Master acted as
Presiding Officer and opened Provincial Grand
Court in fine style.
The Grand Master entered Provincial Grand
Court, appointed his Installing Officers and
Installed Right Worshipful Brother Roger
Freeman in a most memorable and
impressive manner.
Right Worshipful Brother Roger then Installed
Worshipful Brother Keith Waters as Deputy
Provincial Grand Master in an equally
impressive fashion.
The Provincial Grand Master then Appointed and Invested the remainder of the Provincial Officers for the ensuing year.
Other highlights of the day included, the field promotion of Very Worshipful Brother Brian Wright, Past Deputy Provincial Grand Master.
The Most Worshipful Grand Master was pleased to promote Brian to the very high rank of Past Јunior Grand Warden which carries with it
Right Worshipful status. Brian was absolutely delighted and thanked the Most Worshipful Grand Master for this wonderful and unexpected
honour.
The Most Worshipful Grand Master also appointed the new Deputy Provincial Grand Master to the rank of Past Senior Grand Deacon.
Worshipful Brother Waters extended his sincere thanks to the Most Worshipful Grand Master.
In his first address to the Province, Right Worshipful Brother Roger Freeman extended his thanks to the Grand Master and his team for
their undertaking the long journey to Cornwall, and the wonderful and impressive manner in which he had been Installed as Provincial
Grand Master. He also thanked all the Brethren for their attendance. He said that he looked forward to meeting them all in their respective
Courts and tasked all the Brethren of the Province to continue to enjoy their Athelstan Masonry and to to build on the very strong
foundations laid by his predecessor to whom the Province owed a great debt of gratitude. He also extended special thanks to W. Bro. Barry
Chalkley for the tremendous amount of work he had undertaken in making the arrangements for this meeting.
Following the closing of Provincial Grand Court, the Brethren dined together in a very convivial atmosphere.
